To Jean-Marc (and other collectors in France) I happen to be traveling to Paris in a week or so and was wondering if there are any shops around the city with super 8 equipment or films. I have a fantasy of stumbling across a film or two somewhere but I know it's a long shot. Please post any leads if there are any spots a super 8 enthusiast should not miss in the city of lights!

Hi,

http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Category:FAQ#France
lists some companies in Paris or just a few km outside of Paris.

There had been a couple of photo-shops selling Super8-carts in the centre of Paris. (But that has been 10 years ago - I even remember some of the larger FNACs selling Super8-K40, but now their webpage looks like they don't even sell photo-/slide-film any more.)

Some more links:

Hope this helps,
Jörg

.....there's a shop definitely worth visiting: La Bande des cines!
Watch a short clip featuring the shopkeepers & their collection(it's in French,sorry.......) & their address in the end:

Wow that shop looks great - just the kind of place I would love to stumble upon (but it helps to have an address!). It's definitely going to be on my list of things to see. Thanks for the tip...

Just realized the video is from a couple years ago... does anyone know for sure if the shop still exists?

Brian, I've seen stuff they sell at eBay France fairly recently-they must still be around!
