By Jove your wrong. It was "The Earthling" (1980).

Yours was D.D.T ... er, I mean E.T.

Here's an easy one ...

"You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

That's "True Grit" (the "looking for sign" bit gave it away...)

"True Grit" is absolutely correct Jean-Marc.

I think the answer to your quote is "Escape from L.A." ???

How about this one? -

"Sure, sure I heard of grits. I’ve just never actually seen a grit before".

We have a winner, you're correct Keith...

"We have a winner... We have a winner..."

From which film?
Hint: the winner in question previously had to deal with demonic activities...

It's not Beetlejuice.
The "We have a winner" phrase isn't an innocent catchphrase, it is a leitmotiv heard continuously. The person who ears it had had demonic encounters 27 years earlier.

Keith, I found the "sure I heard of grits", but by accident while doing research on the female lead that plays in the movie, so I'll keep it to myself.

And there's a connection between Keith's quote and mine (also accidental, but quite solid...)
