It can't be! Here's a story about the end of tokusatsu, or "suitmation".

I think there's room for just one more film.....

Enjoy the 'Suitmation' (what a great word) far more than the CGI stuff nowadays. They were much more fun to watch.

And I'm sure the actors playing in the suits were having great fun, even though boiling hot inside.

Oh, the charm of real effects ... CGI is killing the real film feel ... Overdone, every time

I had the pleasure of visiting Japan on a business trip back in 1995. The Japanese culture is wonderfully weird; so many different influences. One of these days I would like to go back.

If the new Godzilla movie coming out in May sparks Toho's interest in re- booting the Japanese franchise, I'm not convinced they'll go 100% CGI. THE MILLENIUM SERIES saw a good blend of suitmation mixed with CGI. Hoping they follow tradition and stay true to that blend like the current Ultraman releases. Heading back to Japan in June to push my new book BIG IN JAPAN about the very subject! [Big Grin]
