Also I am not sure the Daily Mail is a reliable source of information on EU policy. Non halogen tungsten bulbs were phased out gradually. First pearl finish then 200w clear down to all clear, but so many were manufactured they are still available. From that article, despite the illustration, I would think the first to be banned (if any) would be the halogen GLS replacement bulbs as these only offer a small power saving 10%-20%. Halogen reflector house lighting bulbs would be a lot later, if at all, as they can save up to 50% or more if low voltage(I am lighting behind a club bar now with 20w 12v reflectors in place of 60 mains voltage non halogen ones with little loss of light). Projector and other halogens would be the last and I am sure would be produced somewhere for very many years.
