Time to stock them ? They will be (for environmental reasons) banned from France from (in theory) 2020. It is not said that other countries will follow but if it is (which i don't know) an European idea...https://fr.finance.yahoo.com/actualites/cotons-tiges-seront-interdits-%C3%A0-154631672.html

I don't know if it's a EU rule or just a French one. It is too early I think to have détails. But whoever decided that, I agree it is ridiculous.

You know I still use cotton buds and they are better dipped in IPA but as they dry they can leave fibres behind. I'm trying now to use cotton lint-free cloth dipped in IPA and you can fold a little point for the gate cleaning. Just my two cents...

Cotton Buds - the bane of the life of every ENT department nurse.
You should still be able to get the smaller tipped medical swabs which are much better for cleaning projectors - available free at all STD clinics........ '

That's a very kind offer Tom exactly what I like best about our forums everyone always eager to help others
One word of advice though - whilst you're in the waiting room no matter how many people espouse the virtues of K.Y. never use it on films no matter how tempting it may seem......

I use the cosmetic applicators, which are flat on one end and pointed on the other end. The cotton seems to be more densely packed than q-tips. Much better IMO.
