This is for our mainly UK members of a certain age.

Former Blue Peter presenter and actor has John Noakes has
passed away aged 83.

He is now reunited with his dog Shep.

Very sad news this, this morning.
I hadn't realised since up to the point of just reading this.
Very sad news is this and John will be very fondly remembered.

Our 1960's and 1970's childhood's would never have been the same without his presence on a Monday and a Thursday...... together with Val and Pete..... and later... Lesley.

No Blue Peter badge for me either, had fond memories watching the programme as a kid, I was surprised he was 83 though! Mark

It was said today that John always complained that the BBC never paid him a sufficient salary for all he was asked to do, and as regards his various stunts that he had been inadequately insured by the BBC.
He died after a battle with Alzheimer's.
