I appreciated The Railrodder a little more once I saw Buster Keaton Rides Again. I thought it was a nice touch they filmed it in black and white, too!

This is the kind of track I'm thinking of: (It's a long way down!)

It's sad how little operating narrow gauge there was left in North America by this time: it couldn't readily compete with trucks after the Depression and a lot of it went when the price of scrap iron was driven up by WWII. Today there probably isn't 1,000 miles total, and almost none of it transports freight.

Steve I remember seeing those extra rails on the bridge in the 1986 film "Stand By My" where they get caught out half way across, by a approaching train coming up from behind.

It's a pity that the editing of the film shows this section of track coming and going!
