It is a long time that I see this cement splicer also suitable for the 9.5mm (in basic version is only for other format).

http://www.ebay.it/itm/THREE-WAY-FILM-SPLICER-SUPER-8-STANDARD-8-8mm-16mm-9-5mm-9-5-FILM-HOME-MOVIES-/111954313761?hash=item1a10ff4221:g:hDwAAOSwLVZV1LtM

You think can fit in some way for the 9.5mm tape splicer?
I think that it cuts the central hole into two parts as Cir, or I'm wrong?

I don't know the JF cement splicer illustrated, however, I expect its operation is similar to my 9.5mm Marguet splicer where the film is trimmed either side of the perforations, and a 1/8th inch overlap cement join is made.
At the point of the join there are two thicknesses of film over the one perforation.

The "other version" is a "bog standard" splicer made by the million and available in hundreds of different brand guises. Any car boot sale ijn the UK should produce several of those....... usually expect to pay about GBP 0.25 to GBP 0.50.

I have never seen a cement splicer that can accommodate all four gauges so I am doubtful that this one can. It is advertised as three way so something is not right and the 9.5 has been handwritten in.
Luigi you will be very lucky to find a CIR 9.5 splicer at a reasonable price. They are very sought after.

Thank you, Terry, I imagine that the splicer I posted, to work even with 9.5mm, has been modified, in fact I see the adapted pivots. However, it is for cement, so it's not for my case.

Instead, anyone can tell me how this works? [Smile]
