Ugo, perhaps more importantly why does he wrap them in foil?

It's not foil -- although it looks like it... Actually he used photoshop or something to blot out the surroundings of the picture... Look closer and you will see...

Perhaps a sheet of .99 cent white poster board would have worked better. Oh well, foiled again! [Razz]

Unless of course he "stole" the picture from another site and in actuality he doesn't own one! (Conspiracy theory #1)

Is actually Frank Adams selling projectors under his Ebay 2nd identity (Conspiracy theory #2)

Thats all I have for now. Its late.

Hello,
I know personally the salesman and his father. He is the son of a very famous French mechanic who was approved ELMO and BEAULIEU! It is a very very big specialist.
You can completely rely on him and it is far from being a funny

Yeah Ugo,

I too remember seeing this machine on ebay before as you say. Still no explanation as to why it's being advertised for sale again a year (or so) on? [Confused]

That´s to much money for me.
I started again few weeks ago to collect Super 8, I was happy that I don´t sold yet my standard GS1200. ~2 years ago I sold a well used GS1200 for ~600 Euro because I bought a new one in very clean condition for only ~25 euro.
As I bought my old one (for ~450 Euro) I come to the sellers home, only few minutes to late. He sold one GS1200 Xenon for ~600 Euro to another and I get only the standard.
The reason that I stoped to collect Super 8 was that I have for my 16mm Films a Elmo 16CL Xenon.
I hope I find one day a cheap GS1200 Xenon

Yes Ugo, it was 50 German Mark that is ~25 Euro.
It was the best deal I ever made. The projektor was also in very good condition like a new one.
But I know a guy who bought a GS Xenon for ~100 Euro.

oh this is very lucky purchase!
But I have a question for the forum folks: do you think it's ethical to buy a GS for 25/100 euro from a guy which doesn't know these items have still value? Probably these sellers think these machines are totally "out of market".
One time I bought a Bauert T610 and a Goko 8008 (like new) for 50 euro, but in the next days I had a lot of ethical problems...

How did you resolve those ethical problems Ugo.
I think its nice to get a bargain, but not too much of one.
I think if I was offered a GS1200 privately for say £100 I`d buy it and then send then a cheque for another £150 so I`d have paid what I could really go to for one at a push.
I did once buy anice RT1 eki fopr £20 with a zoom conveter on but it need all new belts and a clean up and the sound shaft greasing etc so that was OK, really.
I did hear of ba chap getting two Gs`s for I think £100 each in london and a chap in Ireland for £60.
I personally think fiar price for a GS is about £400 for agood un, not neccesarily what the market will stand but what is rightish considering the age.
there must still be loads knocking about in lofts etc.
best Mark.
PS anyone have any idea how many they actually made.

I don´t have a problem with 25 Euro. The Projector was from a association (there was a litle label on). I thing the guy get it for no money after the the association used only videos.
It was on a flea marked, I saw it and asked him how much, he said 50 DM (25 Euro) and I paid him without any question.
That is all.

Tony
If I took Mr Todds price guide, I would have been out of business long ago.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure than acquiring GS1200's for £400 and then selling them on for reasonable profit, but most collectors want £800 for their machines in the first place.
I sell them for £1,150 if you take the V.A.T. off, credit card charge @ 3.5% service cost (all projectors are serviced before sale) plus I have to Guarantee the projector for 3 months
nett profit £144
It's more like the risk business.
If fact after reading the above Statement I think I will pack it in and get a proper job [Wink]

Mark !!!
I don't know what you are sniffing up there but could you please send me some down. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
