So I was having a nice little show using my Elmo ST-800 tonight when I heard this disturbing little "plink!" inside the machine. The takeup reel stopped dead, so I wasn't surprised when I took the back off the large belt that drives the takeup reel fell out.
Can anybody recommend somebody stateside who sells replacement belts for this machine?

Steve, If you can't find the proper belts, there's an alternative here as they sell "belt material kits". I haven't tried these but it could be an idea...

Hi Steve,
I bought some belts for my Elmo K100-SM from Mark McWilliams off the American Ebay site. He sells belts for many different Elmo projectors for a very reasonable price. His Ebay name is 'isellprojectorbelts' (and that's what he does).
It was a quick and hassle free transaction for me.
