Can you hear me now? GOOD!

If you come this far, does anyone know how strange it is to play Pink Floyds audio CD DARK SIDE OF THE MOON along with a feature print of Wizard of Oz (as a silent film). Just set the CD to repeat twice to run the length of the film.

I haven't tried this yet. Has anyone else? They say what you see and hear is really weird.

Curious, that I am.

I'll be checking the lighting on the print. Maybe there's a shadow on Dorothy's behind.

Taa-boom-tish

All jokes aside, I'll let you guys know what the experience really is like later on.

When I get the urge (and it happens quite often) to play the feature print of Wizard of Oz (as a silent film) - it's always to Led Zeppelin II but, I do reserve DARK SIDE OF THE MOON for when I play my copy of The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking in silent mode. [Confused]

I've heard of this one before.

I can't begin to imagine how stoned the first people to notice this must have been! As Bill Cosby said "People breathing regular air don't worry about things like that!"

So has anybody tried this yet?

I had a go last night, I set it all up as per the instructions, carefully pressing play on the cd player followed imediately by pause, I then waited until the lion had finished roaring for the third time and pushed play on the pedro box [I ran the projector at 25fps thinking this would better immitate the video or DVD that people will usually use] and sat back and watched.

I only saw about the first ten minutes or so because my neighbour came to the door, when he came in I tried to explain what I was doing, it must have looked very odd - me in my darkened dining room with Judy Garland on the big screen miming Somewhere Over the Rainbow to the strains of 'On the Run'. [Roll Eyes]

I turned it off after he arrived as my experiment had seemed to loose its point and unfortunately didn't stand the scrutiny of an outsider.

I didn't really notice any obvious evidence of synchronicity between the film and the cd, maybe if I had left it running longer it might have started to make more sense.

Can anyone tell me if there really is some coincidental relationship between TWoO and DSoTM or is it just an urban mith?

Mike [Cool]

Maybe while listening to the Pink Floyd album, you're supposed to view the film in reverse, from end to beginning? [Big Grin]
