Not sure if this has been mentioned before but there an excellent book out called "Castle Films A Hobbyist's Guide"
by Scott MacGillivray. It covers history and titles of all Castle Films.

Oemer,

I got the impression that there was a problem with publishing rights in regard to using the Castle box artwork of Universal features. The only feature film box art that's reproduced in the book is "War of the Planets" which wouldn't be a problem since that's not the film's real title (This Island Earth).

Doug, I donīt think it was a problem with the universal rigths. This book is very well done and they are enough pics because this is a reference book and not a artwork.
Remember they are many movie poster books without rights from the studios.

Those interested in the Castle and other 8mm art boxes should go onto ebay and look around for the "monster box"....an absolutely wonderful box the size of a 200 ft 8mm film box..filled with beautifully restored and reproduced covers to some of the great horror film abridgements released by Castle and others. they are on heavy board with shiny finish....just a great piece of work. I'm hoping they will do a sequel.
