Rather obvious I know, but I have just finished giving my work horse GS1200 its annual spring cleaning and lubrication, and I was amazed at just how much crud there was on the fan blades and in the fan duct. It took me about an hour to clean all the blades and now the fan seems to be moving a lot more air. Heat is the killer of solid state electronics and increasing the running temperature just a few degrees can result in a disproortional reduction in the MTBF of elctronic components. So it pays to keep those fan blades really clean, no matter what projector you run.
