Hey Guy's! Rejoice with me. I have just won on ebay a Super 8 sound copy of "Sunshine Makers" the 1935 Van Buren cartoon!!

I have asked about this cartoon for a couple of years and have never gotten a reply on it. I will be VERY curious as to who released this print. Since Blackhawk released a number of the Van Buren prints, i would not be surprised to find that this is a Blackhawk release.

Since this film is in the two strip technicolor, I wasn't surprised when the seller was stating that it was good but had "odd color".

I have been on ebay for five years and this was the first time I had seen this film on ebay, so I'm overjoyed, as this film was one that I had dreamed of having on Super 8, and it fulfills one of the few "holy grail" films left to find, (much like Joe Caruso's increasingly smaller hunt for treasured prints such as "Battle of the Century" 400ft edition)

YAY!!!!

Thanks Kevin!

I'm even more convinced that it's probably a Blackhawk release as I was reading on the internet about it and one writer stated that Blackhawk released a videotape collection of Van Burewn Cartoons and "Sunshine Makers" was on there, so they definitely had the preprint material.

If this is in fact a blaxckhawk release, I'd be curiuous as to how many were printed.
