Thicker than Water is a hard title to obtain. I think I missed it once on a list and it was advertised as Blackhawk.

No Flying Deuces either of you? It does have its moments and is better than watching Tree in a test tube or This is your Life for that matter.

Was it Movieland that brought out The Big Noise full feature. I remember Roger trying to sell it to me.

I had a niles print years ago of flying dueces but did not care for it so it got sold.

I had a few prints of Flying Deuces before I got a decent one. My print was a Mountain print. I rerecorded the opening credits with a traditional Laurel & Hardy tune as I couldn't stand the original score.

Your list depressed me at first as I thought you had everything lol [Smile]

but you are missing the Lugosi/ Hardy interview reel, The Derann newsreels of 1947 from memory there were five segments and the Romney Dymchurch visit also 1947 available in colour but Derann's print was rather washed out in terms of colour compared to the earlier prints. Also, being a John Wayne fan I had the Fighting Kentuckian feature which whilst only having one half of the team you might just want to pick up the trailer. It has a few great lines from Ollie.

we also has flying deuces but sold it on as i didn't think it was one of best by a long shot, however, we also had the 200ft reel the music men which featured two good parts of the film, this was one short i wish we kept, also recently sold off he Oliver Hardy/Bela Lugusi interview due to the sound being quite poor. [Wink]

I bought both of them Mike but took expert advice from those on the 16mm forum and dumped them in the bin due to possible VS.
Thank goodness they will not be able to affect my other prints now.

Kevin I am so relieved you have dumped lost copies Laurel And Hardy Hats Off copies best decision you could have made. Let's hope my precise details are picked up on searches for Hats Off by archivists 😈

Anyway knowing you of old I guess you have the other 105 titles on Super 8 plus extras but are too shy to tell us.😮

I noticed when searching for lost Laurel and Hardy films they didn't have a synchronised sound version of We Faw Down until very recently. To think I had a 1 reel version with a piano accompaniment by Mountain. I could have been infamous again 👹👹👹👹

Cheers Mike, yes feeling much better now, just realised from a couple of messages I've missed some fun on here over the past week or so. Something like The Film Sale Of The Century by the sounds of it.

All part of the service - faded, VS, more than 5% missing etc. in the bin it goes - I'm sure someone else will have Hats Off tucked away somewhere knowing us cloak and dagger film collector types. I recall our favourite film dealer had a 35mm can with 'Off' written on the side the last time I went there, could be 'Hats' who knows?

Just about to throw another few feet of scrap Nitrate stock on the fire must keep warm now winter has arrived.

You being the font of all knowledge did a 200ft extract from Birth of the Century Laurel & Hardy ever get released on Standard or Super 8. It's the part they already have not some lost deleted portion to all the lurkers watching us.

I seem to remember seeing it somewhere. Could be the thermofilm rotting my brain but you can confirm. Perry's list seem to come to mind but I have lifted a box somewhere with that title as well and then thrown it down "not sound" [Big Grin]

Might I add the Manbeck S8 400' of TOUR OF BRITAIN (1932), ROGUE SONG (1930) clip (about 3-minutes), TEST TUBE (1943), of course, and the last footage AT HOME I call it (1956), about 5-minutes - I was fortunate to get the 1947 Newsreel/1950 Shipboard Interview and Dymchurch reel from overseas not long ago - HATS OFF, seriously, there was a rumor about a 9.5 being around, I've been searching and hounding as only I can - Cheers all, Shorty

Yes only joking about Hats Off as it is currently 'lost' but it would be wonderful for it to turn up on any guage.

Mike, as I think Shorty will confirm the ten or so minute segment of Battle was released, I think as about 250ft on a 400ft spool by Blackhawk on Standard / Regular 8mm, and also by them on 16mm.

I have the Blackhawk 16mm scored version, please see below a few frames I scanned today, hopefully the recently found full version will be remastered and released one day.

Aha I wasn't dreaming about Battle of the Century . I'd forgotten about the 1932 Tour 400ft Shorty. Another purchase I made from Perrys. I think I sold it on to Mark Todd Esq many moons ago.

I still have it on DVD not the same I know but it wasn't that rare in the wider world.

I have most of the features and nearly all the sound shorts on 16mm. but one I do have which I have never seen another copy on 16mm is the big noise and its a mint print

Big Noise was brought out on super 8 full length by Movieland. Print as you say was also great unfortunately the post Roach features Laurel & Hardy made with MGM and Fox weren't great,
