The Super 8mm "coverage" seems to be a bit "thin on the ground". [Frown]

There will be plenty of Super 8 folks..And do remember Classic will also have the latest Super 8 films on offer on the big day.

Also special thanks to Bob for including the George Formby film in the prog to mark 50 years since one of Britains greatest stars passed away. Thanks Bob.

Not long to go now so come and enjoy the day! [Smile]

It looks like there are more dealers there than the previous Derann conventions. Best of luck with it Dave and thank you and well done for doing your bit to keep the hobby going.

It's encouraging to see this information in advance, which of course didn't happen with the previous Blackpool conventions. The 16mm show makes a change and I'm pleased that there's a specific latest releases show, as that didn't happen at the most recent Blackpool events, which to me seemed crazy considering that it's the ideal opportunity to be plugging releases. I wondered if the charges for putting films in the auction or on the bring and buy are the same as what Derann used to charge?

Indeed David, it’s now up to collectors to come along and support the big day. [Smile]
Incidentally folks David is making another trip to Blackpool to further expand the event at the Cliffs so I take my hat off to you for some amazing dedication to this new venture David and less than two weeks to go now. All very exciting!

Absolutely - I don't want to lose it so I'll certainly be using it! If we all make this one a success, perhaps that will pave the way to the Saturday dinner being reinstated next year.

And if you don't have accommodation booked, there are good, inexpensive options nearby even if you need a single room.

re the the auction at blackpool .i was intending to have the auction in the ballroom ,but due to having a large amount of dealer stalls ,i have now moved the auction to the cinema room .for anyone putting items in the auction and the bring and buy ,small change would be a advantage as well as the correct money for addmission .this will all save time ,due to a very busy schedule on the day .thanks hope to see you all on the day .

re northwest film fair ,i have had several emails of the dealers attending the film fair ,infact 10 of them . asking me to stop anyone who is not a dealer from coming in and bagging the bargains till 10 am .as its not fair to anyone who is traveling a long distance. so therefore i must respect the dealers wishes .anyone in the room who is not a dealer will be asked to leave and queue outside .there will be no excuses .please note that this film fair will not open till 10am thanks david

I applaud everyone who made this request. Sounds like a commendable rule that should apply to every event! As well being good for the collectors who attend, I'm sure it's also good to spare the dealers the problem of dubious characters distracting them before the official opening with requests to start selling.

I heartily agree. David has made the correct decision here. Not one excuse will be listened to, and rightly so! I've just been on the phone with David; all dealers' stalls are now taken and all is ready for this weekend. It is very well organised in each and every way. He has just come back from The Cliffs Hotel today (Mon) after some last minute checks. Nothing has been left to chance. Hats off to David for putting in 110% effort here! Both Bob Nichols and Don Sykes are showing 8mm and 16mm films in the cinema. Literally, miss this whole event at your peril!
