Dear all,

Following the discussion in my other thread, I rather open another question here.

If you think Fuji Lamp ESC is brighter (24v 200w), why not using ELC 24v 250w. It is cheaper and is obviously 50w higher?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS- 13163-ELC-250W-24V-Halogen-Low-Voltage-LAMP-NEW-IN-BOX-/251126465735?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a784dc4c7

I know there will be heat issue, but we can deal it with outside fan, can't we?

Your opinion please.

thanks

The ELC and the EJL (200 watt) are both designed for a 16mm gate and if used in the GS1200 have a restricted light output due to their larger filament.

The ESC is designed for the GS1200 and has a smaller, more compact filament. This gives a good, bright light.

The ELC requires 20% more current from the transformer. Using an ELC in a GS1200 produces a very bright intensely white picture (I have done it), but there is serious risk of burning out the transformer, which if it happens, makes your beautiful GS1200 an expensive doorstop. To use an ELC in the GS1200 you have to use an external transformer, as our NZ friend Graham did.
