I found this listing and wanted to entertain the idea of buying. I've asked for condition of the projector and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. He wants a decent offer.

Really depends on condition of the equipment and films. There are a lot of color films listed that could be faded.

Anyway, here are my estimates, assuming everything is in at least very good condition with no issues:

Elmo: $250
B&H: $50
Sears: $50
other equipment: $100
King Kong: $250
Frankenstein: $50
Shrinking Man: $35
Other films: not an expert on all the titles but the above ones I know are desirable.

I'd offer about $900 for the lot.

If the Elmo is the ST1200HD with Optical than $200 would be about right but if its a standard ST1200 they run around $125-150.
King Kong is around $60-125 even if its the uncut version.
If he has the films in the original boxes then you would have to figure that in as well.

Someone just listed KING KONG on eBay for $250 -- let's see if it sells for that.

That's probably my auction. That was the lowest price that he would want me to sell it for, and it is on ELMO reels with a cartoon and trailer. It's been up there for two weeks.

A lot depends on the company that issued the print as well. Not all "Kongs" are equal.

An ST 1200HD magnetic is worth more than $200.00. I've gotten no less than $300.00 as I've sold a good 20 or so machines of those alone. A basic ST 1200 can be anywhere from $125.-200.00 as I've gotten over $200.00 twice for those.

It may be worth more but the belts may need to be changed, may need to be cleaned and he is asking what the price he should offer. He should be getting a discount if he is getting the package deal. I too have sold the ST1200HD for around $200-250 but the belts were changed and the machines were cleaned up. As you know..we do know our machines here! [Smile]
I tried selling my copy of King Kong a while back. It was the unedited version as well. Started at $250...went to $200...sold at $135 I think? Of course Derann was still around so maybe the price is higher.

The person selling this package said that the King Kong was the Uk version with some scenes in that weren't in the original US version.

Thanks for all the info about the Elmos.

Thanks for your replies. He will sell me the whole lot at $575. Would you do it? Anybody interested in any of these films or projectors (besides the Elmo and King Kong)? I will sell at fair price.

Richard,

If the films and the projectors are in decent shape that looks like a good deal to me.

If you buy the package and want to sell the Goko G-2002 Dual 8mm/Super8 editor and the Ciro Super 8mm film splicer, I will be interested.

Good luck

Jon

Thanks folks. I bought it. your responses encouraged me that i wasn't making a huge mistake. I will probably want to look at these films check for color on a few of them before I buy. thanks for the advice. I'll clean them and then price it and put it on the proper thread. Most of them I'm going to keep for a while as all I have is films in Black and white.
