Truly, truly amazing and incredible. Wow!
Now...can you turn my GS1200 halogen to a Xenon unit using a potato and some washers? [Smile]
Seriously thanks for posting. Its inspiring to see so much work and dedication going into such a rebuild. Bravo!

The best sequel I've seen this year. The trilogy ends. How sad!

Now we need to do the prequels where the original GS1200 Xenon started out from the Elmo Factory and was perfect, then it went from being a great projector into a college workhorse in the 2nd prequel, and then the third of the prequel trilogy it is in an Adult Movie theatre playing endless Swedish Erotica loops in a dilapidated part of town where it finally dies and is thrown out due to neglect --where it is found in a trash bin by....Desmond!

THANKS GUYS for the comments, much appreciated..
Alan [Smile] [Smile] thats a great Scenario on the anecdotal life of the Elmo, and a lot of what you say is probably true, apart from me finding it in a trash can! It had been left in a warehouse along with other disused photo equipment. I plucked it from certain death, restored it back to good health, and its now got a great retirement home with lotts of TLC.
Allan, after writing the commentary it was transfered to the video using IBM 'text to speech software'

I must comment on this 3 parter desmond , a remarkable piece of rebuilding , i'm surprised no has has said " IT'S ALIVE I TELL YOU IT'S ALIVE" , more spare parts than scrapheap challange !!!!. Nothing was overlooked . Brilliant mate ,really enjoyed the video's.PS where did you get that toshiba lamp from ? , i thought they stopped making them .

A testament to patience and love of the hobby, first class show
Desmond, if as Alan suggested, that it was used for naughty film
shows, what happened to the films?

Hugh, Now maybe there might be a PART 4 where Desmond goes in search of the Films and comes back with 'The Ten Commandments'
[Smile] [Smile]

Thanks Hugh for you comments.

PAUL...Your right that Toshiba don't make the Lamp for the Elmo Xenon Gs anymore.. I just happened to find a new one on E\Bay and the seller was offering a 'But it now or make offer' . I made an offer & got it for E160. I have put up about 12 hrs on the machine now and it working fine! (Tkns for your comment)

Hi Desmond, really excellent work and really excited to see your videos! [Smile]
I was wondering what kind of film leader you was able to find to execute your scratch-free test...
Can you let me know where on ebay you found it?

Thanks
Flavio
