Do you own a Fumeo 9119? If so, how do you adjust the spool arm tensions?

For members not aquainted, this is a Super 8 (manual) projector hiding in a 16mm body. It accomodates spools up to 750 metres (2460').

Each spool arm has two tension adjusters:-

1) A knurled screw pressing a spring and shoe onto the revolving shaft.

2) A knurled wheel giving adjusting pressure on the belt pulley.

Screw "1" can be adjusted whilst running, "2" is, of course, impossible to touch once the projector is in use.

The instruction book is rather hazy in its comments which leave the owner to work it out for himself.

Any comments will be appreciated.

The tensions are adjusted as you say Maurice by the larger screws
at the rear of the spindles.I leave the feed spool Loose and just
tighten the smaller screw on top to stop the film unspooling
into the picture,so there is no drag on the film being shown.
The take up is screwed tighter, but I leave the smaller screw loose on the rear spindle.
I have never had any problems so far.On rewind,I slacken the screw on the rear arm, tighten the smaller one, tighten the larger screw on the take up arm and slacken the smaller screw. It all
sounds complicated, but it isn't, and I've not suffered any problems.Just a question, why would one of the screws be
impossible to touch while the film is running? I check during
projection just to ensure everything is okay All the screw tensioners are accessible and can be adjusted while projecting.

No probs Maurice, it's just that the smaller screws stop the spindle
acting free and the larger are for engaging actual take up.

Thanks Maurice - for bringing this topic up - I also own a fumeo and since buying it I have never been to sure of the tension adjustments on the arms - I will however take note of Hugh's useful remarks and try them out.
