The tensions are adjusted as you say Maurice by the larger screws at the rear of the spindles.I leave the feed spool Loose and just tighten the smaller screw on top to stop the film unspooling into the picture,so there is no drag on the film being shown. The take up is screwed tighter, but I leave the smaller screw loose on the rear spindle. I have never had any problems so far.On rewind,I slacken the screw on the rear arm, tighten the smaller one, tighten the larger screw on the take up arm and slacken the smaller screw. It all sounds complicated, but it isn't, and I've not suffered any problems.Just a question, why would one of the screws be impossible to touch while the film is running? I check during projection just to ensure everything is okay All the screw tensioners are accessible and can be adjusted while projecting.
