Any body know anything about this projector, is it gentle on films, how's the life ,how is it to maintain, and the focusing? I use to have one over twenty years ago but can not remember much about it. So let's start some discussion about it. It's up for sale on eBay.

Laksmi...I have a 465 and I love it. It's very gentle on film and the sound is great. There have been some issues with these projector with the auto rewind kicking in unexpectedly and worn plastic gears. Just make sure you ask the seller about it's condition. I have a copy of the service manual if you end up getting it.

The main problem Kodak had with these projectors was the plastic shutter gear. They would rot and fall off. I have repaired 3 of them but you have to dismantle the whole projector to do the repair. That being said, the sound ones are great. The dual ones are also very good. They run quiet and do not damage film. The shutter gear replacement is available on Kodaks site but the price is hefty. About 40.00 if I remember correctly. What I did was get just the gear from McMaster-Carr and epoxy it to the shutter and it worked fine. But it takes a lot of time and patience. As Jan said , check with the seller to see if it works good. Best of luck!

Hey Pat & Janice I was just wondering about it I had one a long time ago and just wanted some info. I don't think I need it but it was a thought? You don't see them for sale much. I guess it has a tricky rewind I seem to remember. What size reels will it take and how large can you get the picture? Will it project in a theatre? My Elmo SC 18 projects in a theatre and has a zoom lense I love it it is real gentle on film. I would like another Elmo projector maybe a ST180 or a Eumig. I need a small projector that is light weight for traveling.

They hold up to a 400 foot reel...no zoom lens so the further back from the screen the better. Once you've done the rewind a couple of times...it's a snap.

I am trying to repair my mom's B&H 465. The belt is stretched out. Does the repair manual give the diameter of the belt?

I am looking forward to watching all our old family movies again.

Thanks, Dwayne
