Hi!
Today my projector just didn't start spinning ... I opened the back cover and the belts were a bit gooey. I didn't manage to get off more than the smaller belt, the large one just was difficult to remove (do I need to remove something?)
And the goo, how to get it clean totally? Any cleaning liquids to remove it completely? Videos of how to do it?
Thanks
Oh, another question ... How long before a new belts gets to this state? Change yearly, every 5 or what?

The belts on my GS-800 (your GS-800 actually) are ten years old and still very fine.

So no need to change every year :-) Phew ... Now to find something to clean with and how to take off the old belts (especially the large one and the counter belt)

When I replaced the big belt on my ST-1200 I had to remove the sprockets that held the belt near the take-up arm to get it on. I used rubbing alcohol with a drop of Zalo to clean

I use acetone (nail polish remover) or paint thinner - much quicker than alcohol. Make sure you work in a well-ventilate area.

Or you can always close all the windows and put on some "Jefferson Airplane". Should make the process alot more fun ;-)
