This is probably good news for GS1200 owners who are looking for ESC bulb which currently hard to get, except the one from Fuji Lamp which is normally around $30/each:

http://www.replacementlightbulbs.com/lampesc.html

It is priced $14.95. I don't know about the ingenuity of this bulb compared to Fuji Lamp that has been tested by Bart Smith in the UK. But for that price, I think it is a worth to try.

The owner of this website moreover writes:

quote:
This lamp is for super 8 film projection. Due to the special spiral geometry, the specific mirror shape and the mounting position of the filament in the mirror that concentrates light bulb its better suited for the small picture window of a super 8 projector. In 16mm devices this can lead to a "hot spot" in the middle. EJL and ELC lamps are often used in 16mm projection and when you substitute the EJL for the ESC the broader distribution of the EJL light will concentrate less light on the 8mm film leading to a darker image on the screen.

Equipment That Uses This Lamp

Elmo
GS-1200, GS1200, Super 8, Single 8, Stereo Sound Projector
GS-1200P

So he knows for sure what he is selling there.

Beside, he also puts the Alternate Part Numbers as "Fuji 4214" which this one is the exact Fuji that we have been talking previously.

Anyone in the State is willing to give a try?

cheers,

I don't have a GS, but this seller is where I get my lamps and I can certainly vouch for them being honest and reliable.

Any GS1200 owners in the State would be volunteering to give a try?

Steve, many factories make 2 line of products to chase more markets. One is branded, the other one is OEM. Both are actually the same items. We always see this in super market, which the later is called "home-brand".

I would guess if this bulb has 4 coils like the original ESC, this could be the OEM ESC made by Fuji Lamp. I dare to say this since the seller can exactly says the alternate part numbers with referring to the Fuji's. Fuji ESC is a rather new bulb, how can he knows the exact part number if he is not getting it from Fuji?

I can't vouch for the lamp, just the seller.

All I'm saying is that if this seller says the lamp is good, it's at least worth trying one out.
