I listed this as the only way I could find of getting it on the forum. Does anyone have any ideas what it is?

Amazing. Not an accessory, though. It looks like some connector to be soldered to wires etc in the innards. I'd call it a spare part... Probably if I open the back of my 824 unit, I'll find out. Feeling too lazy today, unfortunately... [Razz]

I reckon I know my 824 inside out.... and this does not rate at all!!
He says it's "an accessory" but doesn't know what it's for.

So, HOW does he know it's an "Accessory"?

I believe that's called "conjecture".

If he knew everything about the part, why would he be asking us?

Thank you Steve. Conjecture, speculation! That's exactly what it is and why I am asking if anyone recognises it. All I know is that it came with some other 824 accessories so I assume it has some connection. There is a channel on the back which is spring loaded, so it slides onto something but I cannot see anything that it would affix to, or for what purpose?

I've seen a widget like this somewhere or other, but my gut is telling me it was either a piece of a car or something I saw at work (power electronics.)

I don't think it's a piece of projector.
(I can't promise it's not.)

Could it be a Eumig camera key for disabling the internal 85 filter. The mounting might be to slide on a lamp.

it is the front part -filmguide -
it belongs to film trimmer/cutter located near front leg
Rest of film trimmer is missing, it is revited to front part at middle bore

useless without missing parts, gets never defective

It is not part of a cutter.
My 824 has the usual Eumig cutter. Still unopened, it has a peel-off sticky back "To affix anywhere convenient on your projector".

It has the look of a triple faston connector, like it's some sort of three terminal buss.

Where the sliding part comes into the equation I have no idea.

Just maybe I remember seeing this terminal used on some pretty beefy power semiconductor devices. (The really huge ones have screw terminals, though.)

I priced it NOT to sell! I just want to find out what it is. If it sold I would never find out.

Grant I think you may be right. It does look like camera filter key. Maybe someone with a Eumig camera can confirm.

I assume you recently bought the projector. Why not ask the seller what it is?

Maurice that's right, I did get it recently, but the guy was not familiar with parts other than the gates and sprockets unfortunately.
Martin- you say that you have two mini cameras but I wonder if it is for a larger model? If anyone has a need for it let me know. It's yours for free.

Anyone considered the fact that Josef is not often wrong when it comes to to projectors?
Could it be just that.... part of a projector film trimmer, but not from a Eumig? Many projectors have internal ones accessed through a slot in the front plate.

(Surprise, surprise! I've just looked at my 824s: the basic 824 has a separate trimmer.... but my 824 Sonomatic HQS has a built in one!!!!!!)

I've had a look at both my 824's and they both have built in trimmers. I think Martin is right about Joseph. He was very definite about his recognition of the part so we should accept his diagnosis. Pity that it's no use to anyone though.
