Hi,
I have recently aquired a Videotronic Super8 projector,it did have a cartridge in it but the film had snapped and wound inside the cartridge so I had no option but to remove the damaged film, it looks like I can't reload the film??
How does the cartridge work [Confused]
Were they originally bought already sealed in its cartridge? [Confused]

The projector itself is working like a charm but it would be nice to have a film running also [Smile]

Does anyone know where I can get a cartridge or have a unwanted one?

Any help or ideas will be appreciated.
Clinton [Smile]

P.S. I have just read this on a webpage that answers some questions for me
"This unit plays looping Super 8 films that are factory inserted into a clear cassette which can be viewed via the self-contained pop-out screen or by being projected onto a wall. Please note that this industrial machine was built for business/sales use and IS NOT designed for, nor will it accept, your homemade Super 8 films on standard reels."

I have once similar cartridge machine but different brand, Fairchild. I opened the cartridge and it is very complicated to reload it, not to mention that the cartridge it self has to be broken to get the film inside.

Another type of cartridge was also made by Technicolor and I have shown step by step to re-spool the cartridge here: [DIY] How to re-spool Technicolor cartridge in a minute

I think they have special machine to put and seal the film inside.

For:

I think it depends how we put into the cartridge. If we are able to do that that we can play in that machine as the film is actually the exact super 8mm we have.

Hi Clinton

I dont have such a player any more but did have one some years ago. Against all the odds, I have located a Videotronic cartridge that I had kept when I dumped the player at the tip. It became infested with cockroaches.

This cartridge is in excellent condition, still in its original box, loaded with a marketing movie. I am not sure what company its been made for but I assume one of the majors of the day.

If you still are looking for this cartridge, email me at Projector Heaven to discuss how to make this yours.
