I have just acquired on 35mm a mint never run print of Elvis That's the way it is Special edition which came out in 2001. Now i wonder if anyone would be interested in this title on Super8?
You never know we could pursued Phil at CHC to see if this would be a possible popular title to be released on Super 8.
That way apart from being involved with the BFCC events over a number of years. Having something worth watching at the next BFCC on Super 8 would be great.
I just thought maybe i will have a chat with Keith and John to see if they can fit a 35mm reel in at the next convention.

Its a definite for me. Would love to see this on S8. I just watched a few reels of Elvis intros. Sadly the images were very blurry. I then watched a reel of Laurel & Hardy, very sharp excellent for S8. S8 has the potential to look very good considering its small aperture I wonder why some stuff looks terrible, there should be no excuse.

Alan, that's the problem with Super 8 prints sometimes it can be hit or miss. It's generally all down to the pre-print master i.e using an original camera neg or using a release print or dupe, film stock etc. Even Derann prints do have some flaws from Disney to Star Wars.

Ask ex Derann employees Alan. They certainly knew how to master the gauge with the very best negatives. They were using trusted known employees in their trusted labs though in their hey day so that surely has a great deal to do with it.

There are prints of this out there already on super 8(the original release),the dreaded fade would have set in by now though,I used to have a copy of it and sadly had some fade but a great film and Elvis in good form and having fun. Would be nice to have a cutdown/feature of the rereleased film as looks lovely,Mark.

Rob, don't understand the last post.just come back onto the site after 4 weeks. Is this print for sale - if it is I am interested in purchasing. Also, Phil's new shop is about 600 meters from our business. Give me a price and p.m. me. All the best. Mark.

No problem Mark have been having one of those days.I suppose if there is interest and it's viable to do so profit wise then we could be on to a winner.
Just email me if it's easier so we can chat further off the forum.
