Just picked up a Chinon 7000 projector, however it seems to be running slow I would think about 20fps, I thought running it for a while (been in its box for 20 years) it would come right but it is still running slow, making my sound films sound well "slow" [Wink] any pointers?, I have not taken the back off to see inside yet.

My guess is that because the unit hasn't been used in such a long time that the belts are stretched and will need to be replaced. When the belts have no friction from time to time to keep them taut they stretch out of shape (warp) and can affect the overall performance of the unit. The rewind belt (the springy metallic belt) may be okay, but the main drive belt which is a black rubber O-ring will probably most likely be warped. Replacement belts are easily found on Ebay as well as from other sources on line.

Hi Patrick...Remove the front cover and check on the front right side to see if there are speed adjustment pots. This is where they are on my Chinon 7800. If not located there...look around. Open the back and look at the PC board to see if there are pots on it.

Yes, check the motor belt...mine is a square belt...AND clean any old grease off the gears and apply new grease.
