Hello,
I am in Australia and was wondering if anyone on the Forum knows of an Australian parts supplier that stocks such items as CXR A1/17 Replacement Projector bulbs for the Sankyo Dualux-1000 8mm Projectors?

I can find the bulbs in Europe and in the US, and have even found a Chinese company that manufacturers them, but only sells in bulk (and couldn't give me the name of anyone here who imports them for retail).

The bulbs themselves are not cheap, and shipping here at least doubles the price. Since they are still not (apparently) directly replaceable by a cooler/brighter LED option (without an external power supply), it would be wonderful to find a retailer in this country who supplies the bulbs.

Any enlightenment appreciated.
Regards, Steve Flora, Canberra.

Hi Steve,
The "spaceman" lamp we call them and some call the the "Marilyn Munroe" for obvious reason lol

They are expensive on eBay as I just had a look as I'm sure you have.

I have avoided paying big amounts for the lamps by simply looking on auction sites and buying faulty projectors with working lamps that have this type.

It might seem weird but a dead projector with working lamp in N.Z. are usually cheap.

I know that didn't answer your question but it's something to keep in mind [Smile]

Cheers from me in New Zealand :-)

Clifton,
Appreciate the reply. Just like with cars, eh? Used car prices are much cheaper in NZ than here in Oz.

Yes, I have looked at the possibility of old projectors as well, but they are certainly not cheaper than one of the CXR bulbs. However, it would be better to have a permanent LED solution.

Regards,
