Hi,
I'm sure it's been talked about, but I have trouble finding specific topics in the forum. After how many hours of use should the belts and lamp be changed on an Elmo ST-1200HD? Thanks.

That's an interesting way of looking at both of those!

Theoretically the lamp is rated for 50 hours and if you logged the time and changed it at hour 50 you'd never be without light.

Practically it's something that takes about a minute to replace, so I just make sure I have a stash of new bulbs and replace 'em when they blow. Was it 45 hours? Was it 70? I actually have no idea!

I've had a few that started to dim or were in there kind of a long time when I was showing a film in front of a large audience that I replace early, but I usually just run them until they are done.

-I blew a bulb each on two projectors one night a couple of months ago...some days you just can't win!

Belts I go like five years, and keep an eye out for splits developing whenever I get a chance to take a look.

-same thing: if I'm in a situation where a busted belt would be embarrassing, I sometimes replace them sooner.

(This would be a good 15 minutes: not fun with people waiting!)

All I ask is a wide screen and a projector to light her by...

Just change the bulb when it becomes dimmer or yellowish. It can be 45 hours, 50, 75 hours it differs between the machines depend on the light setting, voltage, power supply, etc. The 50 hours rate is also a standard factory measurement.

There will be no harm to use bulb until the end of its life since it will not blow up like the LCD projector's

Use the lower lamp setting on the ST1200 and it will last a long time.
