I recently picked up an elmo st 180m which had a scope bracket attached to it.Is this a standard elmo bracket or is it some home made job, either way it seems to work ok.I hope this picture works ok, first time trying-

It's homemade, but very creative too!

That looks to be a capacitor clamp. They are used for holding very large electrolytic capacitors inside electronic cabinets.

I've been working with them for years.

-Why didn't I think of that?!!

Ok thanks, well i have a sankor 16c scope lens and it works well with that.

one sold on ebay recently for £40.00, its a copy of the spondon one. You could make one for less than £10.00, simple good idea and it works.
