Does anyone know what these two DIN sockets may perhaps be utilized for here on this non standard machine?

Has anyone come across anything like this arrangement previously?

It appears to me on first glance that the 6 pin DIN socket on the rear of the cover could perhaps indicate a motor controlling additional circuit board may have been fitted, but I am not entirely sure.

Equally, I have no idea what the apparent additional 5 pin DIN socket may have been fitted for?

Any ideas gratefully received, confirmed or otherwise.

Yes Maurice thanks, hopefully they can shed some light on this one here.

I was just hoping someone here had come across a similar arrangement first to perhaps gain a quicker answer.

Wittners tend to take extensive breaks in and around any holiday period unfortunately.

These two extra sockets take the total up to nine different DIN sockets on this machine.
Even thinking things through in my mind, it's hard to imagine what the extra 5 pin socket on top of the cover at the rear, could have been fitted for??

Maybe some kind of remote control device perhaps??

The 6 pin socket,given its location and the fact it is a 6 pin
Arrangement, could very well indicate it is used to synchronize the machine in conjunction with a specialist control unit though.

I have been assured all extra fittings and devices have been professionally fitted but this owner has not used this machine extensively so can give no further details regarding the history of this particular machine and all of its entire uses.

I assume the extra sockets have wires attached. Are you able to travel their path from connected components?

It's not a machine I have in my possession very sadly Maurice, though I dearly wish it was! [Big Grin]

In answer to your question though Maurice, yes I believe all sockets are believed to be fully functional and all connecting devices have been professionally fitted I'm assured.
This certainly looks to be the case albeit a somewhat strange location for the upper rear cover socket to be fitted, it has to be said. [Confused]

According to the Super8wiki site, a later version was sold with stereo sound and the option to switch between the standard halogen lamp and an Osram HTI 250 watt one. This required the use of an external power generator. It was also dual gauge. Might a previous owner have had his older projector professionally upgraded?

Thank you Will, but the model you are describing I feel is a HTI model.

Although not absolutely clear from these photographs, this model is the much sought after 93 Studio model and it only contains a standard halogen lamp arrangement.

These modifications are retrofit, but they are not associated to the lamp supply in any way, I am certain.

These next photographs hopefully make the model variant a little more clearer.

Wow! I'm not surprised that it's much sought after, he says, wiping the drool of his keyboard. The 6 pin socket by the power input could be for an external device to control the motor speed, perhaps. I can't think what the other DIN socket would be used for, unless it was for another external control for something.

To me that is the most beautiful Super 8 projector I have seen. That and the GS1200 and of course Alan's new Fumeo. Oh and of course this one:

Looks like a great machine. It has those metal spindles. Assuming it all works as normal regardless of the extra DINs, then it is a find. I think he is asking a bit too much though. I'm looking for one with a box or the flight case...

I am sure the DIN sockets all perform as they should whether the buyer would use them all or not.
The sync socket (assuming it is) is particularly beneficial as long as you find or build a similar box to the "Pedro" box.

It isn't cheap admittedly Steven, but it is a best offer sale and when I last saw one it was approximately 500 Euros more.

500 Euros is about £419 in real money
or $536. Not much bread for such quality.

I agree with Alan Rik,all those projectors are great looking and almost have a "modern" look!
Let's be honest that most Super 8mm sound projectors look basically the same and when we see these types we realize that some are on their own [Smile]

Will that was €500 saving on the other one seen, not the price.

Clinton,regarding your comment above above, a member here said recently, that he was showing friends of his who knew nothing whatsoever anything about projectors, his new (to him) Eumig S938.
They thought it was a brand new machine from 2017 such was its outstanding modern day appearance and sleek styling.

When I was a kid I remember looking at the Sears catalog and I would dream about all the fun I could have if I only had the Eumig S926! I love the recording console. Well the Beaulieu seller wouldn't ship to the USA anyways so I guess it was a moot point.
