I see that but the manual has a pretty long procedure. I just shot out an email to our Beaulieu techs to see if there is an easier (less painful) way.

This is OK Alan,
Documents are suitable to make the job. Take time you need, making may be some pictures as necessary.
Pay attention to tiny screw (1) : do not remove it completely, just loosen it for 1/2 to 1 turn couter clockwise . This is a "locking" screw to avoid "Finger-screw" (2) to loosen itself. Also do not overtight screw(1), only tight on with fingers tips !!

Nothing's difficult, once you know how Phil.
If someone has never done any of this type of work, it can become virtually impossible to guide some people I've found. It's like a foreign language to many.
Alan should be fine with this task though by following the drawings and service manual documentation regarding this job as he has successfully repaired mechanisms in the past I think, based on my own experiences of working with him.
Having looked into the pages concerning the arms on these, I couldn't particularly find any "short cuts" I have to say, it's just a case of following the drawings and instructions as you say Phil.

Some of the service manual drawings often make the job look more difficult than it actually is but usually there are no short cuts...

The Beaulieu drawings from within the Service Manual are actually very very good exploded view drawings featuring all of the components of the assembly in great detail and show exactly how each sub assembly links to another, just as exploded view engineering drawings do. I doubt Alan will go far wrong following these with the additional instruction and nomenclature.
