I almost had a catastrophic event yesterday, well for me, a cine nut, it was a potential downer.

My Eumig 926 had a "lense malfunction" in that the lense has a very small metal "knob" that allows it to focus back and forth which catches on ther focus knob, much like many other projector lenses ...

That little metal "knob" ... broke off!

The lense would no longer sit in it's compartment correctly and I thought I'd have to put my beloved 926 on "sick leave" in my house. [Frown]

Then, a thought occured to me ...

Since that lense sits in the projector itself, perhaps that little metal knob was somewhere inside the projector?

Therefore, i took the front cover off, when to my linoleum floor, turned the projecotr over in my arms madly started to shake the bloody thing over the linoleum, (get an image of that!)

Sure enough, that little metal knob fell out, and I was able to super glue it back onto the lense.

The mighty Eumig 926 is offically off of "bed rest"! [Smile]

Have you tried "shaking" that ole projector? I know it asounds silly on the surface, but since this part broke off (probably) inside the lense conmpartment, it might well have "trickled" down inside you're projector and you might just recover it by turning that projector upside down, but keep watch for it.
