I need a copy of the Eumig Mark 501 User Manual. If anybody has a PDF copy they could send me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I've an Eumig Mark 501, Barry, and the instruction sheet which is about A3 size and doesn't tell you a lot unless you've never used a cine projector before. If you've a query about one then I'm happy to help. My 501 runs like a dream and is built like a brick public convenience as we might put it politely in the UK!

Hi Will:
Thanks for the reply. I am very familiar with cine projectors and also have an Eumig 610D which is a gem. The only question I have is regarding accessing the film gate for cleaning on the 501. On the 610 the entire lens holder and pressure plate mechanism swings all the way out by releasing a lever on top of the mechansim. The 501 does not have that release lever and only seems to tilt out as far as it does when rewinding. Is there a way to release it so it tilts all the way out? Thanks in advance.

There is a spring clip at the lower edge of the lens carrier that can be pulled back to let the gate open completely for cleaning and to remove a part shown film.

You have to remove the lamp cover first.

The instruction sheet states. "Swing the lens carrier until it engages and disengage the leaf spring with a pencil or similar object."

Yes, the lens carrier won't swing out fully when the main switch is in the reverse position. You have to lever the spring clip aside so that it clears the carrier body. There's full access to the film gate then. It'll click back into position when you close the carrier. With later models, you can just swing the carrier fully out by hand.

Thanks guys. I've seen that clip and sorta thought disengaging it would allow the lens carrier to swing out, but it sure did not look like it was designed for the home user to do. The redesign of the 610 with a lever on top was an obvious improvement. Thanks again. Hope you get some rain soon.
