I obtained a Bolex soft cover and am just wondering if anyone can confirm that it fits the Bolex 18-5 8MM projector. It seems to be a different shape than the ones I spot on ebay (mine is less rectangular and more triangular).

Unfortunately, I can not figure out how to add an image to this post.

Thank you.

Hi Barbara,

If the soft case you bought looks like the pics below then it will fit both the 18-5L (Super 8mm) and the 18-5 (Standard 8mm) projectors. Both the cases I have are pretty much identical other than color and condition. If your case looks different than these...then not sure if it will fit.

The projector on the left is an 18-5L...on the right is the 18-5 Std.

I have the white one in Janice's photo, it perfectly fits my Standard 8mm 18-5.
One thing I did when I got the cover was to wipe the outside with Armor-All Protectant wipes. This will preserve the soft Vinyl and prevent it from cracking.

I'll give this a try Paul!!
I have a white bolex cover and it is stiff as anything!!!
I've read mineral oil can work too, but have not tried myself yet.

ahhh. I figured out how to upload my softcase photo in question. This Looks different than Janice's but the person I bought it from is sure it fits the Bolex 18-5. I don't have the projector anymore, but I wanted to give it to the person who does.
