Hello, after a while not using the projector, I started it, it was working for a few minutes and all of a sudden it started to run slow. The 18-24 switch is not operating anymore. Any idea what the problem would be? Belt? Anything else? Thanks

Welcome Herve! Do I understand correctly that the motor is running, but the motor and the take up reel are running slowly. Open the back of the projector and see what's going on. Several things can cause this. If the projector hasn't been run for a long period of time the grease can harden on the gears. Cleaning the old grease off the gears and applying some "SuperLube" can help. The motor may just need to run for a period of time to get the oil cirulating...adding some oil to the bushings might help. The belt may be old...stretched...or turning to goo. The goo can get applied to gears and other moving parts. The belt may need to be replaced.

You mention that the 18/24 switch isn't working. Do you mean it is stuck or that the speed doesn't change? I'm pretty sure that projector has speed pots that can be adjusted. This is something to look at after checking what I mentioned above.

After examining the back report back so we can help you further.

Try spraying the switch with contact cleaner! Than try it!
