Hi, I'm new here. Love classic 1859-1968 horror movies and researching silent and B/W film, and lucky me, recently inherited a Chinon 7500 sound projector! Unfortunately, the power cord has been lost, so I thought I'd make an account and ask the experts: is there any specific power cord I should buy to replace it, or will a basic standard power cord do? Thank you so much!

Hi Annabelle and Welcome!

The Chinon 7500 takes a standard 3-pin socket computer cord. You probably have one of these in your house (I have dozens [Smile] )...if not...there's always Amazon [Smile]

My 7500 uses a different cord end socket than either shown above.
Mine is similar to Joes's, but has three round holes.
It also has two small keys, one either side.

Well guys...it looks like Chinon couldn't decide on a single type of power socket. In that case Annabelle we need a picture or a detailed description of the socket to help with locating a cord.

However if your projector has the 2-pin socket like Joe Taffis shows...I have used a Kodak slide projector compatible cord that you can buy off Ebay:

Thank you all SO MUCH for being so welcoming and helpful! It looks like my Chinon is of the two prong variety much like Joe's, save for being inset into the body of the machine (though I am assuming he pulled it out for the sake of a photo.)

If that's the case Annabelle...then the cord I mentioned above should work. If the pins don't line up exactly you can find something to bend or enlarge the openings to make it fit.
