Hi Austin, a very worthwhile purchase indeed!
We had so much fun with ours, and there's one here that may suit:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/King-Ko ng-Super-8mm-Sound-Feature-Film-6-x-400ft-Reels-Perfect-/111156928577?pt=UK_Vintage_Film&hash=item19e1782041

Good luck!

or, if you are feeling very flush, try this:

What's the opinion of other members regarding price of £349; if I remember correctly it cost about £60 new. I have been out of cine collecting a long time, but I am surprised at some of the prices I see being asked for Super 8 features. 16mm seems cheaper.

I think that it is expensive. The prices are getting higher. I suppose (but there may be another explanation) that Internet is responsible for that. Before, on a flea market, you were one of the fews interested in films or cine material and the seller was happy to make a good price so he didn't had to carry it back. Now, the seller stays at home, he saves money on transportation, tables and so on and with the auction system he is just waiting for the prices going higher and higher as what he wants to sell is viewed worldwide by a lot of potential buyers. Not only it makes it expensive for us (and don't forget the postage which can be very expensive for heavy material sent from abroad) but you also to trust the seller and the transport company. I prefer to see what I buy and from whom, but it seems that conventions attracts less sellers.

Agree with that gents, yup £349 is a very heavy price.
I got a very fair copy from Paul Foster for a 3rd of that price (or less) and it's a great movie at that, but the seller is entitled to ask what he wants, though I doubt anyone would be that desperate, rather like the 200' Batman serial on std8, worth a couple of quid, that's been languishing on ebay for between £70 and £90.
Just plain daft, if you ask me.

You're right, Robert, my copy was £60 when new. Was thinking of selling but the kids didn't want to let it go.

You might regret it if you did Allan. Mountain brought out some good stuff, including the Astaire - Rodgers films. Their copy of Flying Deuces with L&H was better than anything I have seen put out on DVD. (I have it twice on DVD).

I miss DERANN!
I found my (mint) copy there and the price was 119 pounds.
The sharpness is outstanding; a treasure!
KING KONG is a must have!

Mountain Films sold so many prints of this title, it was probably there most successful release. Many years ago "King Kong" was on every dealers used films list but you don't see them so much now. They are obviously treasured by the collectors who have acquired them, and rightly so, as they were really good prints. The sequel "Son of Kong" was also released by Mountain Films on 4X400ft reels and were also good prints and worth getting if like me you are a fan of these Ernest B Shoedsack, Merian C Cooper and Ruth Rose Classics.

Have to agree with you again, Robert, regarding 'Flying Deuces'. I had an extract on std 8, and it was streets ahead in quality to anything on DVD, and the print shown on one of those obscure TV channels the other day.
Does anyone know of a decent DVD transfer? I think all those available are from the same sorry dupe!
While I've got my complaining hat on, I bought an Elstree Hill DVD of the 1940 version of 'Tom Brown's Schooldays'. I know Elstree H has a bad reputation, but this one was atrociously bad. It's so bad, looking like a 10th generation copy, that instead of sending it back, it's now circulating among friends as a novelty item! It was previously available on 9.5mm, hopefully looking better than this.
