Hi, if anyone has a full feature copy of 'Grease' please let me know as I am looking for this print. Must be the release before 1998. Thanks.

Paul,

Are you looking for the Derann scope print or the letterboxed Marketing version?

Doug - Are you suggesting this was only released as a full length scope print and the letter-boxed version from Marketing Films,by which I assume you mean the 3x 400' edit?
The reason is that I have a full length flat version and am wondering if this is uncommon?

The full length flat version was only ever officially released by Marketing Films and there are still a fair few in circulation besides the more common 3x 400ft cut down.

Only the Derann full length scope version offers the print on low fade stock. Kodak LPP in fact, I believe.

That must be the one I have. The colour is still there but is not quite A1. Nevertheless, it still has a lot more mileage in it!

My Grease print was very good colour with no fade. Marketing releases were printed in US and Europe on different film stocks Kodak and Agfa. Also, titles were reprinted upto 1981 so used different types of film stock. Most of my marketing titles were good shape full colour prints but some like Sturday Night Fever and The Godfather were faded virtually from the time they were released. Grease and Saturday Night Fever were some of their most popular titles The digest and 3x400 even being available when the films were still in the cinema so I would suspect there are more full length prints around of this title with varying quality.

My 1x400ft prints of Grease and Saturday Night Fever are on Fuji which has kept its colour quite well.

Most of the Marketing films I have are still holding up reasonably well, much better than say U8 prints anyhow.

There is evidence of some degree of fading or another however on each of them now.

I'm still looking for this feature. Surely someone must have a copy of it?
