If anyone is interested. A local theater in my town has a 35mm projector for sale. I don't have a price but I'm sure they would sell it cheap. Yes it works and it includes a platter.
It is very big and heavy and they would probably require you to pick it up yourself.

I think that would flatten the springs in my Honda Civic...
Out of curiosity, what brand/model of projector is it?

I am not sure of the brand. I was in the projection booth once. I have one 35mm feature "Girls on the Beach."
We spliced it together and threaded it up. Ran it for two private screenings. I was going to try to sell the feature but now I want to keep it. I will be able to tell people that I own the last 35mm feature film shown in a downtown Galveston Movie theater
