Hope you find one Paul, or a cheap, little used 926 to use as a sound section donor.

I know how much you love this machine therefore you really do deserve to get hold of a boatload of spares for this if anyone does!

Thanks Andrew, if you ever come across one in the UK please let me know. The sound head is the one item that I would not be able to fix on the 938. My present head is fine, but I do want to get a spare.

I look out myself for these type of spares as part of everyday life Paul for my own machine, but if I see anything I will always let you know. I think my best option is to buy a little used 926 as a spare parts machine for my own 938. They are relatively inexpensive and appear far more frequently than the 938 or 940 models here in the UK.

My priorities regarding projector spares lie very much elsewhere these days, but as said Paul, I always keep a constant lookout for the better models.

The only thing that has gone wrong with my 926 is the sound head - the balance stripe sound has gone and I assume the head is the trouble.

Almost certainly Brian, judging by your explanation of the symptoms.

I only wish Maurizio. Right now my 938 is getting very little useage, simply because I want to preserve the head life. And I have taken your exceelnt tip of using only a mono pressure pad, except of course when projecting stereo films. If anyone comes across any 900 series heads, please PM me.

I do hope Edwin can get this project moving forward sometime in the future.
