My question to anyone reading this is if I can actually get a large image with the ridiculously short throw I have (3.5 meters). I already have an idea but even more input is always heaven ... Thanks again and hope all's well with you all !!!

There is a lens out there Elyas, I used to have one. It was called "The Enlarger Lens" and was distributed by a company in the UK called Harringay Photographic. It was very inexpensive and it enabled a dramatic increase in screen size from a very short throw. I gave mine to a friend who was suffering the same problem as yourself, and he was thrilled. It was just a simple single lens with no light loss caused, and it worked a treat. I would have a good look through local markets or advertise in a mag, there's always the chance someone still has one.

God knows I tried Vidar, I just got a link to "The Ice Group" so can't comment on what I'm supposed to. It was just a metal cylinder with a single convex/concave lens & open the other end. The definition on projected image was perfect, and it was called "The Cinelarger Lens" and sold for £1.00 or 2 for £1.50, no loss of light/definition it just doubled the size of you projected image

Possibly Hugh is thinking of the "Cine-Larger" (not to be confused with devices that enable one to make blowup photos from individual frames) which was an add-on adapter for the projector lens. Basically a "Wide angle Attachment": lots of them around made for camcorders but work just as well on projectors. Martin

My apologies for taking this off-topic but regarding that advert in David's post, and in particular that bit a the bottom about F.W. Haines,I have to say he was one of the most arrogant of men I have ever met. The following happened almost 40 years ago.
On returning a faulty film to him, (200ft Castle version of 'The Wolfman') I explained that the frames had been printed incorrectly resulting in the frame line appearing in the centre of the images and no amount of racking up or down helped. "Impossible " he said, adding that either I hadn't threaded the film properly or my projector was faulty. It took about 10 minutes of arguing and the intervention of another staff member before he agreed to try the film on one of the in-store projectors. The problem was still there of course,so he offered me a credit note. I asked for my money back which didn't go down too well but by now there were a few customers listening to all this. He put the money on the counter and walked off without a word of apology. Guess how many times I went back there for more purchases!
