Does anybody remember or have any info on this company
I purchased a super 8mm film from them in 1975.
They had a 16mm film hire service did they also do
8mm or super 8mm they were based at Wembley Middlesex Uk

FDA were a superb library which had the rights to 20th Century Fox and United Artists films in 16mm. As honorary secretary of the Taunton Film Guild in the 60's and 70's I hired many films from them.

They were famous amongst Film Societies, and others, for their superb prints, both in w/s and 'scope.

I still have fond memories of "Viva Maria", "What A Way To Go", "Meet Whiplash Willie", and "The Bride wore Black", among the many which we hired from them.

Their films were kept in the BFI library which arranged all the despatching and returns.

At that time I only used 16mm, both at home and for the film society. This was the 60s and then into the 70s but I was not aware at that time if they had any films on 8mm or Super 8.

Their name, Film Distributors Associated, was because the two major renters as mentioned above had joined together for issuing on 16mm. United Artists had the rights to many foreign language films which were the society's main interest.

There is no mention of them hiring out 8mm in the December 1976 Movie Maker Film hire guide, but the 1980 one does.
It states "The 8mm section of this vast, mainly 16mm library, offers a small but select series of complete features."
It mentions The French Connection 1 & 2, The Fury, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (£15), High Anxiety (£20), Norma Rae (£20) and Zorba the Greek (£10).
The address given was Film Distributors Associated (8mm) Ltd, Bldg 9, GEC Estate, East Lane, Wembley.
