Thanks Maurice, this is what i was after, thank you.

I popped in a bid for an Eiki Elf SL-2 Super Slot loader. I didn't expect to win it, let alone be the only bidder, however, i was aware that this is not a slim line model but at £149 i was happy to take a punt. It wont be here until next week, (as long as it survives the dreaded couriers), so i shall see what it's like and let you know. It has a an odd looking lens on it so i am hoping that it may possible either a zoom, that would be good,or a long throw, (which wont be much cop for me if it is), i also understand in the ad it states, the reels dont go around so fingers crossed it may only be a belt or two.
If anyone has one of these can give any feedback i would look forward to any replies. It also has magnetic playback, however, that wont be a feature i require. [Wink]

I've looked at the original listing. The lens appears to be a zoom convertor. Worth a few quid if it is!
I note that the projector is 220 volt.

Funnily enough thats one thing i didn't spot. Will i need to do something before i use it on our 240v system? (sorry if i sound a bit daft).

Can you accurately check your voltage is 240?
If it is, do not use for too long at a time, and make sure you keep the lamp setting on low.

The reason above is that the transformer will tend to get warmer and warmer as it runs, it could eventually burn out in such a circumstance.
Using the lamp on the lower position can also help to save such an occurrence.

You need to check your mains voltage. You are likely to find that it is 230v not 240v, in which case I don't think you will be overloading anything too much other than perhaps shortening the lamp life, so as has been mentioned just run it on the low setting.
We used to be on 240v in the UK until the '60s when it was reduced to 230v.

Are you sure it was the 60s when the voltage was reduced, I thought it was a lot later, 80s possibly. An EU directive. On some electrical equipment you can adjust the voltage from 220 volts upwards for different countries.

1993 was the year that the UK officially became 230 volts, but in practice nothing much changed from the 240 volts because that would have been a practically impossible job to do.
The new tolerance more or less covered the voltage tolerance it replaced!

hi Tom. just to add. the belts on this model are different to the norm. the front arm has a toothed belt, while the rear arm belt is thin and flat.

I will get hold of a set of belts as i usually change all belts on any projector i buy, (after making sure the rest of it is OK).
