Did anyone else notice this under the News section?

What do you think about the BFCC moving out of London?

Nice venue,but theres a big chance it could decrease the the attendees even more.

Guys,what are your feelings on this??

Looks just right to me. The location is comparable with the Ealing venue. Goods news, and at least it dispels the thought of March 2010 being the last BFCC convention (subject to good attendance, of course!!)

Make sure you make the effort to get to Ealing in March, lads and secure the future of the convention.

Easy to get to from St Pancras (no connection) on the Metropolitain line (and I have a good friend in Hillingdon, so accomodation issue is solved [Big Grin] )
Although I'm supposed to leave to the US for work on March 21, I'll definitely try to make it on the 20th in Ealing.

I think that's great news,it's up to us collectors to make it happen with a good attendence in March,The possible new venue looks great also,Good to know Keith and all involved haven't given up!...Mark.

Ruislip is in lots of ways superior to Ealing for accessability.
It is served by the London Underground for rail access, but the road access is great. It is close to the M25 and hence M3/M27 (South and South West), M4/M5 (South West and Wales),M40/M6 Middle England, Birmingham and the West Coast), M1/M6 (Middle England, Birmingham, The North and North East, M11 (East Anglia). West Sussex has easy access to the M25; the only relatively poor access is from the M2 and M20 in the extreme South East, but it's still easier than battling through Central London to Ealing.
A good location, and rural enough for easier parking.As long as the Facilities are satisfactory, a promising venue

I'm unsure if it would influence the attendance either way, but if the facilities are good (and the seating looks impressive), that's a major plus point. It would mean 9 more stops on the tube for me, which is no problem, and if it's 5 mins walk from the tube, that's no more than the walk from Ealing Broadway. A venue that's smaller overall need not be bad thing - some of my best memories are from the first conventions I went to at Holborn Library around 1981, where most of the dealers had tables in the cinema, and so could only sell between shows!

If your coming from 4,800 miles away, 20 miles here or there makes little difference! [Big Grin] My choice would be Henley-on Thames, but that's just because I love it so much there. But the proposed new venue looks incredible, and I hope the UK collectors will pack the Ealing Town Hall in March to encorage Keith and John to go for 2011. You guys have it so good over there - don't lose it!
