Recieved this amusing story the other day [Smile]

Little Zachary was doing quite badly in Maths. His parents had tried everything. tutors, mentors, flash cards, Special Learning Centers. In short, everything they could think of to help his maths.

Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local Catholic school. After the first day, little Zachary came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother Hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at work.

His mother was amazed She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit his books. With great trepidation, his Mom looked at it and to her great surprise Little Zachary got an "A" in maths. She could no longer hold her curiosity.

She went to his room and said, Son, what was it? Was it the nuns? Little Zachary looked at her and shooked his head, no. Well, then, she replied, Was it the books, the disciplne, the structure, the uniforms? Little Zachary looked at her and said, On the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around.

Dave Allan used to be on one of the local channels here after Benny Hill caught on big time.

A favorite:

Sean and Murphy are drunk at the pub:

Sean says: I know a river near here where you don't even need a rod to catch a fish! All you have to do is dangle over the bridge, reach into the water and pull the fish out with your bare hands!

Murphy is skeptical, so Sean and Murphy leave the pub and walk to a bridge. Sean hangs over the bridge and Murphy holds his legs.

A few minutes pass and Sean starts to yell "PULL ME UP!!! PULL ME UP!!!"

Murphy asks "Did you catch a fish?"

Sean answers "NO!!! THERE'S A TRAIN COMING!!!"

Steve
Thats brilliant [Big Grin] will have to remember that one.

Trevor
Dave Allen was an amazing comedian he had a go at everyone and everything but in good taste. Many years ago he came here to a sell out concert, its really something to be able to sit on a stool with nothing more than a drink and tell stories to a few thousand people for a few hours, he was very popular.

Alex
It looks like you will be having a white Christmas, the seasons are the opposite here, as we are right in the middle of summer and schools finished on the 18th of December and dont go back until the end of January with many people going on holiday straight after Christmas, camping, fishing etc a great place to be at the moment if you like the outdoors.

Pat
Haggis mmmmmm have you tried it, its very nice just the thing for Christmas [Wink] plus a bit of black pudding. The last time I was called "Haggis" was from young "Chris" [Roll Eyes] our projectionist and he thought he could get away with it, took of like a scared rabbit followed by the mad Scotsman [Eek!] "me" "and he thought he could run fast" [Wink] we did get a couple of complaints after the movie was finished of a lot thumping and noise coming from the stairs and projection room "big feet" [Smile] running all over the place, all in good fun though, well I wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year, take care.

Graham.

Graham,

The story is a hundred times better when told with Dave Allan's impersonations of the two drunks and has manic facial expressions!
