... and a wonderful, big thanks to John Clancy for helping me advertise this full album release!

Folks, unlike the CD single (which is available through CDbaby.com) this is a full Christmas Album of holiday music!

What this consists of is the brand new holiday version of "A Merry Christmas 2012", as well as the original music video from last year (on the CD in the form of a WMV file!), and early first take of this song when in the works, (boy, did it get better over time!), as well as a host of holiday classics, the list of which follows ....

1. A Merry Christmas! (2012 version)
2. We Three Kings
3. The Birth
4. Good King Wenselaus
5. What Child is This
6. Oh Holy Night
7. I Wonder as I Wander
8. Joy To The World
9. Little Drummer Boy
10. Do You Hear What I Hear
11. Silent Night
12. On Christmas Day

Bonus Tracks :
13 “A Merry Christmas” (1st take/mono)
14. A Merry Christmas 2012 (Jingle version)

(yeah, I know that the list is a little redundant)

The classical Christmas songs, however, are all instrumentals. In nearly every case, they are done with a full orchestrated sound and in a few other cases, a trimmed own sound.

For instance ...

"We Three Kings" I have always felt is a "masculine" song, so I did it as a four string quartet, with grinding cello's and such. However, (as you'll note on Three Kings) I like taking the songs in a different chord progressions that you might not have heard before, (at least I never have).

With "Joy to the World," I have attempted to get the sound of a four piece (or so) band on the streets of London, during the Holidays, a cute little bit. "Silent night" is a glockenspeil, cascading up and down with a simple flute and horn section arrangement.

I have used "What Child is This" as a favorite instrumental that I do every year at Christmas celebrations, as it is a very powerful song with strong, emotional power packed in it.

My personal favorite of the instrumentals? "Do You Hear What I Hear", which has a lovely soft touch the beginning, and ends the same way.

The instrumental "The Birth" is the only brand new Instrumental done exclusively by me, (which did not exist beforehand).

... and then, there are some on the album, (such as "I Wonder as I Wander", "Good King Wenselaus") that we just don't hear much anymore, so I wanted to take a stab at some old favorites of mine.

One of the best things about this album (in my opinion), is that, after you have listened to the "A Merry Christmas", it is very easy to have this playing in the background while you open presents and such, as it pleasantly fills the room, but doesn't jolt you out of your merriment as you enjoy the holiday. Sometimes Christmas CD's do that. I worked hard to make this a pleasurable experience instead of an irritant.

Of course, I'm biased, but I'm very fond of the songs, with and without vocals.

For all those who order copies, please note that I will get them out as soon as possible. To all those ahead of time who order this, Thank you from the Osgood's and a very Merry Christmas to one and all!

Post from the US was rather slower than usual but I've had Osi's CD for a few days now and I wanted to report how good it really is. I only really wanted the Christmas track we have all heard in relatively low quality on YouTube. Well, Osi's been re-recording and re-mastering that one since he first released the original version and it is absolutely fabulous on this CD.

But the real surprise is how good many of the other tracks are. They're all good but there are quite a number of really stand out tunes on here. It isn't just that Christmas record that's really catchy.

I'll be trying to find a local radio DJ willing to play some of these. Perhaps when a few others on this forum have got the CD from Osi you'll be doing the same too. I really think that Christmas track deserves to be a hit next year so it would be nice if we could help make that happen. It's getting it heard by enough people that's the problem. Once that obstacle is overcome it could be a biggy.

Highly recommended.

... and that, from a satisfied customer and the first official (by his own words) member of the OSI fan club!

The cool thing was that John had only heard the version on the music video and hadn't heard the complete redo on that song, so it was quite wonderful to hear that he enjoyed it.

In my personal opinion, it's far better than the useless drivel that mainstream artists come up with at Christmas, (you know, the endless bloody variations on "Rudolph the Red Nosed Ars**ole" ect ect) You'd think with all that money and time, they could write something new?

(excuse last paragraph "rant" by a starving artist!)
