there are an odd few on here that will say i am being disrespectful to the forum and hobby by my commenting on a blu ray release. however as i know many hundreds of you on here also use digital i hope it is of interest to several of you.. i have had the 3 disc set of this film on blu ray since its release. it is only recently i came across this 6 disc version released in france.it comes in a really nice metal tin. 3 blu ray. 2 dvd and a CD disc with some of the film music score. also provided is a superb booklet containing many many scenes from the film.while most of the text is in french it does not ruin what is an excellent item. it can be purchased fom Amazon france for just £14.30 which inc postage to uk. as to picture quality, well like its earlier release it has had full restoration and it is simply stunning. the Ben Hur 400ft release on super 8 used to be one of my favourites some years ago.containing a good section of the chariot race. i think it may have faded colour now though. so if your a lover of the film and want to view it at its very best take a look on Amazons french site.

That's interesting. I bought the Fiftieth Anniversary Edition blu-ray a while ago and I must say, it does look stunning.

Jumping back a few years ago regarding the four disc dvd edition of Ben Hur, that one also came with the 1925 Silent Version of Ben Hur.

Graham you might be interested to know that the third blu ray disc in this french set does in fact have the 1925 release complete. with musical score by Carl Davis. plus other extras. i am delighted with it. Paul
