The TV stations are showing film of Wildwood NJ being flooded by the storm surge. I hope the Cinesea venue is ok.

I've seen that myself, Paul.

I'm not too worried about the Ocean Holiday: it's pretty sea-worthy. "Our" room there (The Hospitality Room) is essentially a garage and could probably be set right with a hose and some mopping. The office and first floor rooms are a good two feet above grade and wouldn't be too quick to take on water.

What does concern me is the Sea Theater. The lobby and the first rows of theater seating are at sidewalk level. They got flooded up to the third row during Sandy and only because friends of the place showed up to clean up the mess did things turn out all right.

Flooding is kind of a way of life in places like that. In the houses around there basements are basically unheard of, and very often your first floor is pretty much garage, furnace room and laundry room. At least if your living space is second floor and higher you have a little margin of error when Nature comes howling through every couple of years.

I live on an island too: over a mile away and 200 feet above Sea level. We can go to the water whenever we like, but it can't get to us so easily!

Looks pretty serious:

Flooding in the Wildwoods from Winter Storm Jonas

-flooding actually worse than Hurricane Sandy.

Bless Simone!,

It's not every unofficial film convention that has a professional representative on-site full time.

-we should at least buy her a T-shirt!

I'm seeing that there was flooding on Pacific Ave. I hope the Sea Theater didn't get it too badly.

The Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, said today while campaigning for the Republican nomination in New Hampshire, " What do you want me to do, go down there with a mop?".
I like Governor Christie, but I think he just ruined any chance he might have had.
