If you haven't seen this already, go on utube and punch in 'Filmobiel'.
A travelling 16mm projector, the biggest ever, I should think...and run by petrol!

Great find on Youtube ...
Here's the link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H4MEKWbppE&spfreload=5

And when you translate the info here's what it says in English ..
Mobile movie projector, suitable for outdoor theater and street theater.
"Composed of a washing machine, photocopier, stencil machine, typewriter, telephone, gas meter, train dashboard, clock, tricycle and aggregate"

Cheers from me in New Zealand :-)

Is that for REAL!!! It didn't show a projected image so I'm a bit sceptical.

For the small amount of film, why bother with the huge spools?

Blimey !!! good job it is in one piece, sort of, so no lifting etc required.

Just the reels look heavy enough.

Outdoor shows I suppose, forces etc maybe ?

I wonder when it was made.

What a Beast !!!

Best Mark.

There's another video on youtube.
The brand seems to be kudelski
Stefan kudelski is the father of the nagra recorders

nagra kudelski

What a difference in size between the movie equipment shown and the small and compact Nagra tape recorder.

I think this is the smallest ever built in 1971
Smallest Nagra

Who on earth produced a thing like this? Looks like something produced to make folk giggle and goggle. Would a petrol driven projector run steady enough to produce sound without wow and flutter. Surely it's nothing more than a gimmic, but a fun one at that?

I suspect the petrol engine supplied a generator so should give the same performance as any projector on non-mains power.

However I would class it as transportable not portable - I wouldn't try to carry it.

For sure it's not a real projector but it's so funny and well made.

Yes I agree with Bruno. It's a Heath Robinson machine that's been built for effect and it's a great job, but not a real projector.
